DOUBLE.D PROPERTY CONSULTANTS PUNCHES THROUGH THE BILLION RAND SALES THRESHOLD
South Africa, Cape Town, 7 November 2025; Double.D Property Consultants, a rapidly growing boutique real estate advisory based in Cape Town, has surpassed the R1 billion sales mark in just over two years. Since launching in early 2023, the firm’s personalised concierge-style approach and deep knowledge of the luxury property market have propelled it into the top tier of Cape Town’s residential real estate sector and disrupted the industry.
Founded by industry doyenne Denise Dogon – a name synonymous with South Africa’s luxury property market – Double.D marked her return from semi-retirement in 2023 at the age of 74. Responding to continued demand from local and international buyers for her expertise, Dogon, who set the benchmark for South Africa’s highest residential sale of R290 million in 2016 through her previous company, launched the firm to deliver bespoke, client-focused property services built on relationships, discretion, and speed.
“With demand outstripping supply, Double.D has positioned itself as the Off-Market specialists. Our relationships, reach, and tailored service allow us to offer clients privileged access to Cape Town’s most exceptional homes before they reach public listing,” says Denise Dogon, CEO of Double.D Property Consultants.
“We deliberately stepped away from the traditional corporate model,” says Dogon. “Instead of a head office, we meet clients where they’re most comfortable. Also, our digital-first approach allows us to work quickly while building genuine relationships and maintaining absolute discretion.”

Significant Sales and Market Impact
Since opening its doors, Double.D Property Consultants has completed 115 premium residential property transactions, predominantly along Cape Town’s sought-after Atlantic Seaboard. Among these, a Bantry Bay property was resold just 11 months after purchase, with an astonishing R22 million increase in value.
Notable transactions include a R90 million gentleman’s estate in Franschhoek, a R40 million home in Llandudno, and two Constantia residences sold at R35 million and R48 million respectively – all of which were closed within the past 18 months. The team also sold three luxury apartments at Clifton’s blue-chip Eventide building, totalling R103 million, and recently concluded a R40 million transaction of a Pinmore apartment in the highly desired V&A Waterfront Marina.
Latest listings include the sole mandate of One Victoria Road, a double-story penthouse offering 360 degree vistas of mountain and ocean – priced at R65 million

A Growing Team of Experts
From the outset, Denise Dogon was joined by Vicky Atlas, one of the most respected agents on the Atlantic Seaboard. The team has since grown to include ten specialists, each bringing a wealth of knowledge and a client-first approach to the business.
In August 2024, Jacques Weber, a well-established real estate professional with experience in both the residential and commercial sectors, joined the team. In just over a year, Weber has secured more than R400 million in transactions and has now been appointed Managing Director and shareholder.
Adding to the strength of the firm’s network, Janez Vermeiren, a prominent media personality, has joined the consultancy, expanding its reach and influence.
“Cape Town’s property market is booming as we head into the summer season, with growing interest from both local and international buyers. This momentum is driving the luxury property sector, and our team is perfectly positioned to capitalise on it,” says Jacques Weber, Managing Director of Double.D Property Consultants.

Riding the Wave of Market Growth and Semigration
Double.D Property Consultants continues to experience growth in the semigration market, as individuals and families from Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal move to Cape Town seeking a better quality of life. At the same time, international interest from investors keen to gain a slice of Cape Town’s iconic Atlantic Seaboard continues to rise. Double.D’s flexible business model and team of experienced advisers enable them to move quickly and protect client confidentiality at all stages of the process.
“More than half of our current clients are relocating from Gauteng or KwaZulu-Natal,” Weber notes. “This movement, combined with sustained international interest, has positioned Double.D at the forefront of Cape Town’s evolving property landscape.”
Billion-Rand Milestone
In just over two years, Double.D Property Consultants has established itself as a leading player in South Africa’s luxury property sector, surpassing R1 billion in sales and poised for more record-breaking numbers this summer.
“We are just getting started. As the luxury residential market continues to grow, we remain focused on providing discreet, results-driven advisory services to buyers and sellers, both local and international,” says Dogon, CEO of Double.D Property Consultants.

A new rhythm at Morii: Italian warmth, Cape terroir, and the spirit of The Vineyard

[Newlands, Cape Town – 5 November 2025] The Vineyard Hotel, a landmark in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs, has reimagined its signature restaurant, Morii, with a new culinary direction that embraces the warmth and generosity of Italian dining, expressed through Cape Town’s produce, seasons and sense of place.
The name Morii is drawn from contemporary language rather than Italian, and speaks to the desire to hold onto fleeting, beautiful moments, the kind that make a meal linger in memory. It captures what the restaurant stands for: connection, craft and the quiet joy of good food shared well.
Morii’s refreshed concept brings together everything people love about dining at The Vineyard: honest food, a sense of ease and a feeling of belonging, now expressed through the timeless appeal of Italian cooking that is familiar, soulful, and made for conversation.
A meeting of places and people
“We wanted to create something that feels instinctively right for this space,” says Mike Bassett, Head of Food & Beverage at The Vineyard Hotel. “Italian food has an ease and generosity that resonates with how people want to dine today – unpretentious, seasonal, and full of flavour. This feels like a natural progression, a concept that fits our rhythm and our guests’ appetite for honest, ingredient-led cooking.”
Led by Head Chef Chad Blows and Sous Chef Connor McKibbon, the kitchen operates almost entirely from scratch. Pasta, breads, and charcuterie are made in-house, guided by a focus on honest, seasonal flavours that bridge Cape ingredients and Italian influence.
The new menu offers familiar comfort with a lighter, more expressive touch from a reimagined Caprese to cold-fermented, wood-fired pizzas made with Caputo flour, and a tiramisu that captures everything comforting about the classic.
The art of pairing
The wine list, curated by F&B Operations Manager David Hendricks, brings Italian and Cape wines together in a considered selection that reflects balance, character and craftsmanship, with a shared respect for place and terroir.
The cocktail list centres on the Negroni, offered in regional interpretations that playfully blend Cape craft gins with Italian vermouths and aperitivi. Guests can also explore a short list of handcrafted cocktails and lighter spritzes. To close the meal, the team has curated a selection of classic digestive, including grappa and limoncello.
The space and spirit of Morii
Set within the same light-filled restaurant with views across The Vineyard’s gardens to the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, Morii now feels both familiar and renewed, a calm, refined space that invites relaxed gatherings and unhurried dinners. The refreshed décor echoes this new direction, with soft natural tones, terracotta accents and textures that reflect the surrounding landscape.
“Just as important as the food is how it feels,” says Bassett. “We wanted to bring back that sense of warmth and connection, something that feels effortless but deeply considered. Morii is about slowing down, sharing, and finding joy in good company.”
For The Vineyard Hotel, this evolution is not a reinvention but a return: to flavour, to craft and to a way of dining that feels unmistakably Cape in character, and unmistakably The Vineyard.
True to its name, Morii is about those fleeting, beautiful moments that stay with you long after the meal – simple, generous, and shared.
As Bassett concludes: “It’s Italian in inspiration but grounded here – in our landscape, our people and our love of bringing people together.”

She explores the billion-dollar world of esports, learns Taekwondo from a blackbelt, meets a kimchi grandmaster and Jeju’s legendary female divers. Along the way, she discovers how South Korea blends tradition with innovation, from family-run business empires to cutting-edge everyday tech. With curiosity and humour, Hannah reveals how the country’s unique mix of ancient values and future-focused thinking turned it into a cultural superpower that continues to shape our lives.

Hannah Fry journeys across islands, mountains and olive groves to reveal why ancient Greece was the birthplace of so many big ideas. From sailing old trade routes through the Aegean to marvelling at the optical illusions hidden in the Parthenon, she explores how ideas were shaped by the dramatic landscape and how a mastery of maths, architecture and navigation fuelled a golden age of progress and innovation. Exploring the threads between ancient and modern Greece, she joins a family of olive farmers in Crete preserving centuries-old traditions and visits the mountaintop monasteries in Meteora, where nuns safeguard classical texts. In the coastal town of Galaxidi, she’s swept up in a riotous flour-throwing festival that blends ancient myth with modern identity.
“Ireland”
Ireland doesn’t take up much room on the map, but few places have such a celebrated identity; more than 70 million people around the world claim Irish heritage. Hannah digs beneath the surface to discover what it really means to be Irish today. Along the windswept coast of Donegal Bay, she dives into Ireland’s surprising surfing scene, where dramatic geology is forging a new bond with the sea. She places a bet at the Punchestown races, exploring how a connection to the land became a multibillion-euro industry. In a moment of personal discovery, Hannah uncovers her own Irish DNA and how her family history holds clues to Irish identity. As her journey ends, Hannah steps into the spotlight to try her hand at one of Ireland’s most cherished traditions: storytelling.

On the geologically active Reykjanes Peninsula, she meets scientists whose lava-flow predictions saved the world-famous Blue Lagoon spa from destruction. In Hengill, she sees how a futuristic algae farm is fuelled by geothermal power and imagination. A dip in the country’s oldest swimming pool reveals how Iceland’s unusually small gene pool is helping advance global health, while a horseback ride across a black sand landscape immortalised in the Icelandic sagas shows how Viking heritage continues to inspire creativity. The Icelanders Hannah encounters don’t just live on the land; they negotiate with it. Their collective determination and adaptability have forged an island of ideas – and a tourist magnet the world cannot resist.
“Vietnam”
Hannah Fry travels to Vietnam, a land of staggering natural beauty, ancient traditions and some of the fastest growing skylines on earth. Over 1,600 km from the vibrant South to the historic North, Vietnam reveals a remarkable story of post-war transformation. Hannah immerses herself in the moped chaos in Ho Chi Minh City, helps with a muddy prawn harvest in the Mekong Delta and takes a restorative spa bath in the misty hilltops of Sapa. She ushers in the Lunar New Year with a local family celebrating the Tet festival and learns how the beloved dish pho, tells a story of national identity. In each place she visits, Hannah meets characters whose lives have been shaped by both war and renewal. What emerges is a nation embracing change, where striking contrasts are balanced by a spirit of cooperation and strong family bonds.
“Spain”
Hannah Fry decodes Spain’s cultural contradictions. Starting in Madrid, she tries to learn flamenco and discovers how the artform combines both technical discipline and freedom of improvisation. In Valencia, she uncovers the origins of paella, the fiercely regional dish that owes its existence to an irrigation system built over 700 years ago. In the Canary Islands, where Christoper Colombus first set sail for the Americas, she discovers an ancient whistling language which endured as Spanish conquered the world. Back on the mainland, she indulges her love of urban planning in Barcelona, revealing how much of the city’s easy charm is built on strict geometric discipline. And in a heart-stopping finale in Tarragona, she witnesses the strong community bonds at the core of gravity defying human pyramids.
