Meet TONIK From Soweto Orlando East

Sibusiso Mtetwa born 26 September 1992, From Orlando East, Soweto better known by his stage name TONIK.

As he was making music he came across a lot of local artists with different talents with the likes of King JS, Dusty Dee, Naldo, 440 etc.

That’s all the local talent he’s come across and they also looking to climb the step ladder to the top and are equally gifted. 
2018 – 2019 he made a hit song called Ama Namba (feat. Dusty Dee) which broke the internet, circulating all over the city but unfortunately didn’t hit the trademark quick enough to this trend and become something else, reinterpreted by others. That was supposed to be his debut hit, Unfortunately didn’t get to the higher levels of reaching the whole nation and not being registered with under SAMRO didn’t help too.

 
He took part in multiple Dj Competitions like Redsquare, Hunters Dry Dj search and other local competitions. He also got nominated to play at an event that was hosted by Mo Flava  (Metro FM) got some recognition there it’s a simple movement.

“The type of DJ I am, I’d like to see myself as a versatile DJ, because I can play Hip Hop, Classic House, Amapiano, Afro House. So I get to fit in, in almost all these genre’s“

A South African Dj, record producer started at the age of 14years old as a DeeJay, moving with time he was on and off with the music production, but after his Matric, took it in full time, learning and practicing until this day in life.
