Most men don’t spend a lot of time primping themselves in the mirror. They think it is “a women’s thing”. We know gents we only look in the mirror only when we are shaving apart from that it hardly ever happens. Although it is not all men who do this, there are certainly men who are exceptions to this rule of not primping their face in the mirror. The simple routines that men follow each morning; wake up, take a bath, brushing of the teeth and then apply deodorant then leave for work. No time for the mirror. The little time that we as men spend in the mirror, it is a safe bet that we give the rest of our body less attention for inspection. However for those men who are friends with the mirror they are always aware of what’s going on with their bodies. They spot pimples in the face quick and try to get rid of them. The mirror statement we have opened this topic with is all about looking after your body and spotting changes quickly. Men who have a keen eye and a bit of flexibility may have spotted some unusual lumps or bumps speckling down there. When you give yourself time to inspect your body and spot any changes it will help you be aware of what’s happening with your body. When you do notice some bumps, some might be a cause for concern, many are harmless and there is no reason for you to be alarmed.Doing regular inspections of your genital area does not only help keep certain bumps away, it also encourages you to get up close and personal with your manhood so that if a harmful lump is brewing.
(such as STD or cancerous tumor) it is found right away, and immediate treatment is initiated. You might have identified some small white or yellow spots on your penis while doing the inspection. They are medically called Fordyce’s spots and they are harmless and cannot be passed on to a partner. They are very tiny and cover a large area which means if you see a solo white bump it is certainly not a Fordyce’s spot. The spots are simply a type of gland and are not associated with any illness or disease; you don’t have to panic once you spot them. They are not transferable from one person to another and they can appear in both men and women of any age. You will notice them on the edge of your lips. To feel them just run your finger across the edges of your lips. In men you will find them on your penis and scrotum. Females will notice them in their labia as well Fordyce’s spots come naturally and they are not a health hazard or an STD infection. There is no medical reason to treat them. Although some men do seek treatment for cosmetic reasons because they are not fond of these spots. Apart from that cosmetic reason there is no other reason to remove them. For men who have prominent spots or are finding themselves self-conscious about the bumps, can seek treatment to lessen the appearance. Before you decide to get these bumps removed, be warned that it is expensive and may not entirely eliminate the bumps.
If you consult the right specialist you might be able to get a vaporizing laser treatment or electro desiccation of the area to smooth the skin and improve its appearance. Pulsed dye lasers have also been used with some success, just note that this treatment is expensive. If cost is not an issue for you then go ahead with treatment. For those who can’t afford treatment, there is absolutely nothing to worry about. You just have to accept the Fordyce’s spots as part of your body and as the naturally occurring bumps they are and simply be happy they are nothing serious. You don’t have to be a mirror man but you need to inspect your whole body each day to stay aware of what is happening on your body and most especially your genital area. Keep that area healthy and clean.
