‘Ethereal Continuum’ is an exploration of fashion as a bridge between the past, present, and future.

Inspired by celestial rhythms and ancestral wisdom, this collection captures the essence of transcendence and transformation. Airy, flowing silhouettes meet delicate yet purposeful structure, reflecting the duality of softness and strength a signature of the Rubicon woman.

With this collection, Rubicon redefines contemporary African elegance through a palette of sun-washed neutrals, sky-kissed blues, infused with radiant golds and warm earth tones. Fabrics are weightless yet commanding, designed to move with the body like whispers of the wind on the skin, like echoes of heritage woven into the future.

As the world shifts and evolves, ‘Ethereal Continuum’ speaks to an ageless woman in motion bold, yet effortlessly graceful. Each piece tells a story of transformation, from ethereal drapes reminiscent of shifting sands to structured cuts that mirror architectural strength. Embroidered details, handwoven textures, and fluid layering evoke the connection between our past and what lies ahead.

This season of SA Fashion Week showcase is more than a runway; it is a visual symphony of light, motion, and energy.  Rubicion’s ‘Ethereal Continuum’ collection was unveiled at South African Fashion Week SS25 last night at The Forum in Hyde Park where audiences got to witness a seamless flow between delicacy and power, nostalgia and futurism, heritage and innovation.

        “Working on ‘Ethereal Continuum’ felt like stitching together memories from the past and dreams of the future. My future, our future! Every fabric, every movement—it’s our way of saying African elegance isn’t just timeless, it’s transcendent. Being apart of the design team was a such an honour and I hope everyone loves the collection as much as we do and embodies it with grace and youthfulness,” stated the assistant designer Leah Ranoto.

adidas Originals presents “The Original” for Spring/Summer 2025

South Africa: 7th April 2025: For Spring/Summer 2025, adidas Originals shifts focus from celebrating its cultural legacy to inspiring future generations with “The Original” – a campaign built on the powerful premise that revolutionary change begins with just one.

Originals have always donned the iconic franchises that adidas have given to the world. At the center of the campaign are three silhouettes that have continued to chart a course for the thousands that adopted them across culture: the Superstar II, the Handball Spezial, and the Samba OG. 

At the heart of this concept is the brand’s collaborative vision with celebrated director Thibaut Grevet, whose distinctive visual language has shaped the cultural landscape through his work, which like Originals itself, navigates a space speaking to sport, music and fashion alike. It takes vision, craftsmanship, and an unwavering commitment to authenticity to create something truly original — qualities that define both his work and adidas Originals’ iconic silhouettes.

Grevet brings his signature style to an evocative film that captures the essence of originality. Through his lens, we witness the power of those who inspired the thousands that followed in their footsteps—told through masterful juxtapositions where the energy of the crowd sets the stage as we find each Original in their space.

The continuation of the global creative is seen as South Africa’s trailblazers and adidas contracted partners amapiano sensation Focalistic, Singer & Song-writer Shekhinah and Gqom dj & producer Que DJ shot by Cape Town based photographer Sven Kristian, feature in the local execution of the campaign, as they showcase the ‘one’ in a thousand who stand out and lead the way to inspire the next. Shot alongside this trio were industry disruptors, soul singer Bongeziwe Mabandladjdoowap and indie/rock band internetgirlmusic who showcased the impact of their Original within the music industry supported by footwear models, namely Superstar, Spezial and Samba.

South Africa, February 27, 2025: Today, adidas Sportswear begins its Lightblaze era, dropping the first model from its new sneaker line. Born from sport, worn for style, the shoe is embedded in adidas Sportswear’s comfort-first DNA, providing a versatile footwear offering for those who want to move through the world in comfort and style on their feet. 

Fronted by singer Tate McRae – who recently joined the three-stripe brand – and Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, the campaign showcases their signature aesthetics, which redefine the boundaries between athletic performance and fashion-forward style. 

Built to support those with busy, active lifestyles, Lightblaze taps into the trending comfort meets style design code. Blending monochromatic color block detailing with lifestyle characteristics, complemented by bold three-stripe branding on the outer foot, the shoe is perfect for elevating a minimalist fit, or styling down for a no-fuss look. The upper features a mix of overlaying and underlaying materials – contrasting suede, leather and mesh – for added texture to accompany the sharp design edges.
