“It’s all growth and purpose,” she says, reflecting on the recent upward trajectory of her career. “Some of the things that come along my journey are never planned but I work as much as I do so that opportunities present themselves. The time and effort you put into the work you have right in front of you will determine what’s next and I have been quite blessed so see the trajectory of my career through the lens of the person actually doing the work!”

In August, Pamela had the privilege of being featured on the new L’Oreal Paris advert alongside the brand’s new ambassador, Thuso Mbedu. The new widely syndicated advert was part of L’Oreal’s introduction of the “Glycolic Bright” range to the South African market. “L’Oreal is one of those brands I feel is putting their money where their mouth is. By putting our very own South African star turned global force as the face of the brand, that’s something I could easily agree to supporting in a heartbeat! Africa is really on the rise and seeing ourselves through global screens really is testament to the fact that we have a seat at the global table. It’s kind of surreal to be on a L’Oreal ad, little me would not have imagined it all.”

Speaking on recently hosting the red carpet for the Basadi In Music Award, where she was also nominated for two awards, Pamela added, “This might have been my favorite red carpet to have hosted. A space filled with so many incredible, talented and hopeful women dressed in absolutely regal dresses celebrating different cultures was a sight to see from that red carpet stage.”

In honour of Women’s Month, BET Africa featured Pamela alongside the likes of Thando Thabethe, DJ Zinhle and Busiswa as they celebrated the “strength, resilience and achievements” of SA women. “BET is a platform I’ve wanted to work with for some time now and it was such an honour to get into studio with the team and to realize how your dreams are always manifesting in ways you cannot expect,” she says.

“Titles don’t really matter to me, as long as I’m booked and I’m making a mark, that’s enough for me. But this felt so aligned with exactly what I’m doing in my career so I hold it dear to my heart. To be recognized for all the work that I do, I do not take that lightly.”
