We recently got invited to the screening of the telenovela The Wife which was inspired by Dudu Busani-Dube novel Hlomu the Wife and we couldn’t have been more star struck by the guestlist which featured all the actors that starring in the telenovela and to our surprise they were very welcoming and really nice but above all you could see and sense the love they had for each other and thats were the magic was hidden

The author took to the stage as she was being called up by actress Zikhona Sodlaka who was the perfect host and made everyone feel comfortable with her witty humour but when Dudu Busani-Dube took to the stage she made sure that to tell us that as much as this is her baby she’d like to thank the team at StainGlass, Showmax and the actors which all this could not have been possible without.

The leading actor Bonko Khoza came in with such confidence you could tell that they choose the perfect actor for the lead as he’s poses were not only strong they were affirmative it was like HE IS the character which was a tick in our books but then when the “Belle of the Ball” showed up you could feel the presence as joy and happiness all of a sudden overtook everyone from the crew to the media including the guest, Mbalenhle Mavimbela is truly a breathe of fresh air “Literally” in her custom dress, everyone was delighted she made it 

Kwenzo Ngcobo came in and we immediately wanted a picture as he’s outfit resembled young, fun and distinctive but when we zoomed in we realised it was one of the actors from the show and we lost it as his character was so humbled he didn’t eve mind we didn’t notice him at 1st but we for sure noticed that killer outfit 

Swelihle Luthuli is the youngest of the brothers and he is truly the sweetest and the most bubbly and we loved every minute of it, He’s infectious charm reminded us of the Boy Next Door, He was relatable and just fun 

We truly enjoyed the premiere but not as much as we enjoyed the screening of this groundbreaking telenovela which is why you should subscribe. The 1st episode left us wanting more, The cliff hanger left us wondering whether if she was set up or if she was just given an exclusive either way catch The Wife today on showmax and be sure to hashtag #TheWifeShowmax as its truly an amazing show thats written, produced and even shot by South Africans 

On another note we wanted to make sure we appreciate the fact that they also opened up the industry with the casting, Introducing us to new characters that have been acting, Its about time and for that we’d personally like to thank the casting directer who by the way saw the chemistry between the Bonko and Mbalenhle, He sure has an eye for great talent and a great eye for people that work great together Ayanda Sithebe we salute and Thank you 

And of cause we save the best for last as love was in the air with this iconic kiss we witnessed from Kay Sibiya and his gorgeous date, The couple was on fire making it hard to pay attention to anything else after. We love you Kay
