MaXhosa by Laduma is a colorful and print fashion house taking inspiration from the xhosa culture which he’s from. He’s authenticity to his culture built him a thriving and successful business he’s ready to wear knitwear brand is made from South African mohair and merion wool made to celebrate traditional Xhosa aesthetics, The company launched in 2011 and ever since the house has won more awards like 2010 Society of Dyers and Colorist Design Award, Marie Claire SA Prix D’Exellence De La Mode, 2011 Best Emerging Designer, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Alumni Association Rising Star Award 2012, AFI Emerging Designer of the Year and counting. He has the ability to make traditional print modern and he’s vision is just a icing on the cake that makes him one of the best designers in South Africa. The modern take is influenced by subliminal western culture which creates items like v necks, crew necks, cardigans, sweater vests, body warmers, jackets, scarfs and beanies In 2014 the company branched out to homeware adding rugs to a range was something he felt was an easy direction to take and it was not too controversial and would maintain the high standard seen on the knitwear line, With interior pieces we know they are not formed by trends they can be sold across season and will last for centuries. The brand was commissioned by New York City’s Museum of modern art to create a jersey for its “Is Fashion Modern” exhibition
